Committed to Bridging Gaps in Burn Care and Support
The Mid-Atlantic Burn Foundation was established with a singular goal: to ensure that burn survivors and their families receive the care, guidance, and support they need during some of the most difficult moments of their lives. After experiencing a personal tragedy, our founders realized how limited resources were for families facing the aftermath of severe burn injuries. By providing comprehensive services and fostering community connections, we aim to bridge those gaps with compassion, ensuring no family has to navigate this journey alone.
Our Story
In 2024, after the tragic accident that claimed the life of Cesar Yepez, his family was left to navigate an overwhelming array of challenges without adequate resources or guidance. As they faced the pain and uncertainty of Cesar’s 14-day fight for survival, they discovered just how few support systems were available to families in similar situations. The Mid-Atlantic Burn Foundation was born from that painful experience, created in Cesar’s honor, to ensure that other families receive the help, guidance, and compassion they need when faced with such a crisis.
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide burn survivors and their families with access to the resources, support, and care they need to recover and rebuild. We believe that no one should have to endure the difficulties of a burn injury alone, and we work tirelessly to offer assistance in areas ranging from hospital care to long-term recovery. Our goal is to help families navigate the complex and emotional process of healing, providing everything from transportation and housing during hospital stays to mental health and legal support, making the path forward a little easier for all involved.
What We Do?
The Mid-Atlantic Burn Foundation offers a range of services designed to meet the immediate and ongoing needs of burn survivors and their families. We organize regular blood drives and fundraising events to provide vital support, while also working to raise awareness about burn injury prevention and care. Our foundation offers housing assistance during hospital stays, transportation to and from medical appointments, legal recommendations, and mental health resources, ensuring that survivors have access to the full spectrum of care they need. We also provide fire safety education and support for disability services, ensuring that survivors are equipped for the challenges of recovery.
Our Commitment
We are dedicated to delivering compassionate, meaningful care to burn survivors and their families, ensuring that no one feels alone in their journey.
We strive to raise awareness and educate the community on burn prevention and fire safety, reducing the risk of future tragedies.
We are committed to supporting survivors through every step of their recovery process, from the initial hospital stay to their return home, providing the resources they need to heal both physically and emotionally.
